Is there a connection between the current culture of 'ranking & rating' teenage girls and eating disorders? This is not a trick question.
Excellent discussion today on BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour with the articulate and brave young woman, Ava Vakil plus interesting points raised by columnist/writer Lorraine Candy on parents huge lack of awareness, huge amount of denial and huge lack of (really) listening to our teenage boys and girls.

HOW ARE YOU? Just 3 little words can make all the difference to someone struggling with a Mental Health problem. All you have to do is really mean it when you ask the question.
Take the time to listen carefully to what the other person is telling you.
Try to maintain eye contact and keep an open body position (uncrossed arms/legs).
Express empathy NOT sympathy....

Some scary Statistics for you:
Currently only 1 in 10 people survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest and this figure has remained stubbornly low in the UK

80% of out of hospital Cardiac Arrests happen in the home.

During this pandemic the survival statistics have got worse due to a combination of more people staying home and less bystanders willing to deliver CPR. Everyone should learn CPR and how to use an AED.
Even if you only ever learn once in your life it will stay with you.
