The FAST test has been a great tool for raising public awareness of the signs & symptoms if someone is having a stroke or a brain attack. Now in the US and the UK the guidance has changed to the BEFAST test, adding possible Balance and Eye/Visual disturbances to Face, Arms and Speech difficulties. AND before you tell me yes it does say call 911, the American emergency number, which will link into our emergency services if used in the UK, but to be safe always call 999 or 112 if you see one any one of these 6 signs and symptoms. The faster the casualty gets medical care, less brain cells die and the more of the person you save. So BEFAST aware. ... See MoreSee Less

Shockingly, a third of Brits are afraid to give CPR to a woman because they are worried about touching breasts.

We thought this Step by step guide to performing CPR and using a defibrillator on a woman or person with breasts courtesy of St John Ambulance was definitely worth a share.

As they say, when it comes to CPR, every 'body' is the same. Regardless of gender or body type, you use the same technique.

We come from professional backgrounds, are highly skilled trainers and assessors and have a wealth of experience working with adults and children. We have a strong personal interest in delivering quality first aid training to our local community.

Accreditation

All our instructors hold a teaching qualification, First Aid qualifications, up to date CPD, and are registered as Approved Instructors with the Ofqual regulated awarding organisation, First Aid Awards Ltd. Our courses meet the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. All learners receive certificates which are valid for 3 years.
