Take the time to listen carefully to what the other person is telling you. Try to maintain eye contact and keep an open body position (uncrossed arms/legs). Express empathy NOT sympathy. Do not judge. Encourage appropriate professional support Provide reassurance. SAY LESS, LISTEN MORE.
